Pilot & Feasibility Program

Beginning in 2010, the Center began sponsoring a pilot project program. Center members are eligible to apply for one-time two-year grants of up to $50,000/year to be used for acquisition of new preliminary data for interdisciplinary studies related to the Center’s mission. Eligibility criteria are listed below:

  1. Applications will be accepted from faculty members of the Diabetic Cardiovascular Disease Center. Center members are strongly encouraged to partner with other Center members or non-Center faculty to craft collaborative, transdisciplinary projects.

  2. Applications should be for new projects that are not currently funded by external or internal grant mechanisms.

  3. Projects should focus on diabetic cardiovascular disease. While basic projects will be considered, preference will be given to translational and clinical projects.

  4. Projects with the potential to generate preliminary data for competitive external funding mechanisms will be given priority.
