DCDC Membership Guidelines

Membership benefits

  1. Opportunity to participate in research community with shared interests in diabetic cardiovascular disease.
  2. Eligibility for Pilot & Feasibility Funding.
  3. Priority for use of Metabolomics Facility.

Membership criteria

  1. Full-time Washington University faculty.
  2. Conducting research relating to diabetes and cardiovascular disease
  3. Approved by the DCDC Director and Co-Director.

In order to remain in good standing as a member of the DCDC, faculty must fulfill the following obligations:

  1. Actively participate in a research program related to diabetic cardiovascular disease. Participation will be defined broadly but will include writing new research proposals related to diabetic cardiovascular disease, attendance at DCDC-sponsored conferences and seminars, use of Metabolomics Facility, etc.
  2. Provide information on clinical studies, publications, and research support, and other information that may be needed to fulfill requirements for designation as an Interdisciplinary Research Center.
  3. Acknowledge use of the DCDC facilities, space or assistance (when appropriate) in research publications.

New Applications will be reviewed by the DCDC Director and Co-Director. The applicant will receive notification by a letter of decision.

Application Renewals: All full DCDC members must reapply for membership every 3 years to maintain their membership status, unless otherwise specified in the membership notice letter from the Director. Renewal applications must meet all the criteria listed for new applicants and will also be evaluated on their contributions to the DCDC over the previous 3-year period. Applications will be reviewed by the DCDC Director and Co-Director. The Director has final authority on approval, disapproval or termination of membership.
